It's official: There's a spot for me on the August trip to Ecuador and I'm taking it. Husband is not 100% thrilled with the idea of being left with LittleOne for a week (they had a rough go of it last summer!), and doesn't like being left out of the fun, but he's supportive of my need to help finish a little piece of what I started. And we had another visitor who is 'looking for a church.'

And we had a vocal soloist who did a really good job. And a pretty decent crowd. And a really decent collection. And a good gathering after church for coffee hour.

Despite my earlier post about the stresses of it, I actually do think I like Easter better than Christmas. At least, I definitely liked this year's Easter better than the most recent Christmas.

A total note to self for my next appointment. I had a great meeting with the Lay Leadership Team today to reorganize and brainstorm. I was very underprepared and not especially optimistic. As usual, the outcome was not what I expected. Maybe that means it's not all about me...

For Christmas, Lissa got Husband and I tickets to the theatre. She "knew they were good tickets." What she didn't know was that they were *front row* tickets. As my previous post suggests, I had a pretty lousy start to the morning yesterday, and showed up at church in a pretty crappy mood. Despite this, the service went pretty well, and my sermon was passable, and my children's sermon (which I totally made up on the spot) was actually pretty good-- God bless kids for playing along ( Read more... )
